The Game says he felt ‘compelled’ to help firefighters in Los Angeles — so much so that he has delayed the release of his new album.

The rapper, 45, who was born and raised in Compton, California, exclusively tells Us Weekly that he felt “compelled” to assist fire personnel as they battled the L.A. wildfires, which have claimed at least 27 lives and destroyed or damaged over 12,300 structures, according to NBC News. The Weeknd has postponed an upcoming concert, as well as the release of his latest album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, amid the ongoing wildfires that have devastated the greater Los Angeles Area. They woke up at 4 a.m. and stayed overnight to help firefighters in Altadena, a historically Black neighborhood in Los Angeles that has been heavily impacted.
