The CW Boss Blames James Gunn’s DC Universe For ‘Superman and Lois’ Cancellation


A report has confirmed that Superman and Lois was canceled because of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe reboot, which kicks off with Superman: Legacy.

A new interview with Brad Schwartz, The CW Network’s president of entertainment, revealed the show was ultimately canceled so as to not conflict with James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy: “[Warner Bros. James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have all been released following the announcement of the new DC Universe, all four projects struggling at the box office.
