The Cure to Release Live Recordings of Two New Songs on Eco-Friendly Vinyl Single

The Cure will release live versions of two songs that they’ve road-tested during recent tours on an upcoming eco-friendly vinyl single

It’s not the long-awaited new album by the Cure, but Robert Smith and company will release live versions of two songs that they’ve road-tested during recent tours on an upcoming eco-friendly vinyl single. The two-track 12″ single will be pressed on eco-friendly transparent black vinyl via Naked Record Club, which uses a “ground-breaking injection-moulding machine that is estimated to use 80-90% less electricity than traditional vinyl pressing machines,” the band said. The Cure last released 4:13 Dream back in 2008, but have been hinting at a new album called Songs of a Lost World for the past few years, and even played a half-dozen of the LP’s potential tracks — “A Fragile Thing,” “Endsong,” “I Can Never Say Goodbye,” “Alone,” “And Nothing Is Forever,” and “Another Happy Birthday” — over their lengthy Shows of a Lost World tour.
