The Chase was pulled from the ITV schedule on Wednesday night to make way for a breaking news announcement from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to announce a general election
ITV viewers were left fuming after The Chase was abruptly taken off the schedule to make room for a breaking news special. The news special, hosted by journalist Tom Bradby outside 10 Downing Street, focused on the Prime Minister's announcement. He declared on 5 July, the day following the election, that either he or Sir Keir Starmer will take up the mantle of Prime Minister, while casting aspersions on his opponent for being willing to do anything to gain power.
