The Block viewers slam 'unlikeable' contestants on new season and complain Nine is 'deliberately casting people who will create drama'

The Block: Island premiered on Monday night after months of promising the 'biggest' season ever, but fans were less than impressed by the first episode.

Long-time viewer Evie Farrell said she wouldn't let her young daughter watch the program and had turned off the ratings juggernaut because it features 'more bullying than building'. 'It's beyond me why The Block is promoting a toxic and disturbing bullying narrative as the main storyline for this season,' Farrell wrote in an article penned for Mamamia. Situated two-and-a-half hours from Melbourne, the site featured nine homes, a communal pool, a BBQ pavilion, tennis court and a children's playground.
