The Block stars too big for Gogglebox: Fan favourites were 'turned down' by the reality show because they'd grown too famous
The fan favourites were runners-up on the hit renovation series last year and have since racked up 60,000 Instagram followers and launched a popular podcast.
'The duo would have been fantastic but the show prides itself on having everyday Australians and The Block exposure has really given the girls a temporary celebrity tag, it isn't the right fit,' the source explained. As well as its civilian edition, Gogglebox launched a celebrity version Down Under two years ago, which has starred the likes of Hamish Blake, The Irwin family, Dave Hughes and Julia Morris. Sisters Mia and Bree and their best friend Lainey have joined the cast of popular armchair critics, providing their entertaining TV commentary to viewers.
