The Black List Unveils Submission Date For Academy’s Nicholl Fellowships In Screenwriting

The Black List will open submissions for the 2025 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting in mid-May.

The widely known industry platform for promising writers serves as the public portal for Nicholl submissions and will receive up to 2,500 eligible entries. In addition to The Black List, other official Nicholl partners — including the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment, NYU Tisch School of Arts, UCLA’s Screenwriting Program and many others — will also submit scripts for fellowship consideration. Each partner will vet and submit scripts for consideration for an Academy Nicholl Fellowship, and The Black List will serve as a portal for public submissions.
