The best 90s nostalgia to watch on streaming now. Our critics find classic shows for you to binge this weekend

In many ways, the 1990s were the heyday of TV, with the likes of Friends, Sex And The City and The West Wing transforming the television landscape as we knew it.

It's hard to disagree, particularly when you look at the great supporting cast that surrounded the magnificent Gandolfini and the memorable characters they brought to life: Edie Falco as Tony's possessive wife, Carmela; Lorraine Bracco as his calm shrink Dr Melfi; Nancy Marchand as his disapproving, manipulative mother Livia and Michael Imperioli as his hot-headed 'nephew' Christopher. The show follows the Halliwell sisters, a trio of good witches - Shannen Doherty's Prue, Holly Marie Combs as Piper, Alyssa Milano as Phoebe (with Rose McGowan as half-sister Paige from series four) - as they put on a united front to battle demons and warlocks in present day San Francisco, all while trying to find love and happiness. Pam Ferris plays Ma and - in her breakout role - Catherine Zeta Jones stars as the Larkins' oldest daughter Mariette, a young woman beautiful and persuasive enough to convince tax collector and future husband Charley Charlton (Philip Franks) not to investigate her father's dubious financial affairs.
