The 2025 Oscar Nominations Are Here: ‘Emilia Perez,’ ‘The Brutalist,’ ‘Wicked’ Lead
The nominees for the 97th Academy Awards were announced Thursday, during a livestream hosted by Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott.
Hosts Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott will announce the nominees for all 24 categories live from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles. The 2025 Oscar nominees were originally set to be announced last week, Jan. 17, but the ceremony was pushed due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles (voters were also given an extra two days to submit their ballots). Several films are poised for big nominations hauls this year, chief among them Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez and Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist.
