Terrence Howard passed on Marvin Gaye biopic after finding out he'd have to kiss a man on screen: 'I don't fake it'

Terrence Howard reveals he turned down the lead role in a Marvin Gaye biopic after finding out it would involve kissing a man on screen: 'If I kissed some man, I would cut my lips off.'

The Empire alum divulged the info while telling Club Random host Bill Maher about the "biggest mistake" he ever made in his career. The story began with Motown pioneer Smokey Robinson, who Howard claims invited him to dinner years ago because "he wanted me to play his life" in a movie. In a 2018 interview with Vulture, fellow pillar of Motown music Jones claimed that Gaye was among many famous men with whom actor Marlon Brando had an intimate relationship.
