Tennis legend dead as heartbroken tributes paid to former world No1 and grand-slam champ


Tennis legend Neale Fraser has passed away at the age of 91, with the Australian icon winning a total of 19 Grand Slam titles during his illustrious sports career

Rod Laver, another Aussie icon and one-time rival, expressed his sorrow on social media: "I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear mate and fellow lefty, Neale Fraser." He added, "He was a true gem in a golden era of Australian tennis legends - an incredible World No.1, a Grand Slam champion, and a Davis Cup icon," reports the Daily Star. 1, also paid homage, saying: "Vale Neale Fraser, Wimbledon and US Open singles champ and our wonderful Davis Cup captain."
