Swims also performed his slinking ballad on the BBMAs stage, letting his signature rasp shine through on the belted chorus and, at one point, ceding the spotlight to his guitarist for a soulful solo. “I lose control/ When you’re not next to me/ I’m falling apart right in front of you, can’t you see?” sang the musician, dressed in a leather biker jacket and silver chain, sunglasses hanging off his forehead.
