Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham takes over role from Kate Middleton in 'pinch me' moment

Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham has been named the Godmother of Princess Cruise Line's latest ship, Sun Princess, after its maiden voyage in February this year

Following the announcement, the 49 year old actress revealed that the new role holds a special place in her heart due to a touching family connection to the marine industry. Hannah went on to say: "Having grown up around boats all my life and my grandfather was in the Atlantic Convoy in the Navy, to be asked to be a part of this beautiful honour is a 'pinch me' moment." Kate was all smiles as she snipped a blue ribbon and then launched a Nebuchadnezzar of Moet and Chandon champagne against the hull of the sparkling new ship, Royal Princess.
