Taylor Swift’s Lyrics About Marriage on ‘The Tortured Poets Department’: Rings and Other References

Following her split from Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift made many references to wanting to get married in the lyrics from her album The Tortured Poets Department.

The pop star has previously referenced marriage in relation to Joe on songs like “Lavender Haze” and “ You’re Losing Me,” but fans were shocked to hear that she was also quite serious about her relationship with Matty. She references their history on the track, singing, “Here at the park where we used to sit on children’s swings, wearing imaginary rings.” Fans are torn about whether this song is about Taylor’s relationship with Matty or Joe but there’s no denying the multiple lyrics about marriage, including, “You and I go from one kiss to getting married.”
