In an Instagram post delivering the news Monday (Dec. 2), the RIAA revealed that the pop star’s The Tortured Poets Department had earned its sixth Platinum certification two days prior, just seven months after the sprawling 31-track LP was released via Republic Records in the spring. The new certification is just the latest feat in a breathless commercial run for Tortured Poets, which outperformed any of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s past albums on the Billboard 200 by spending 15 weeks at the top of the chart. It also comes just days after a massive sales push from Swift, who released CD and vinyl versions of the full Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology deluxe album for the first time ever on Black Friday.
