Taylor Swift Buys Back Her Music Catalog 6 Years After It Was Sold To Scooter Braun


Taylor Swift has re-acquired her music catalog, six years after her old label, Big Machine Label Group, sold it to Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings.

It led to the Grammy winner’s decision to to re-record the albums, known as “(Taylor’s Version),” to gain ownership of her own music. She added: “All I’ve ever wanted was the opportunity to work hard enough to be able to purchase my music outright with no strings attached, no partnership, with full autonomy. All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief,” she wrote.
