Taylor Swift Announces New Album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ During Grammys Acceptance Speech

Taylor Swift announced her next studio album, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' out in April, during her Grammys acceptance speech.

Taylor Swift won the Grammy for best pop vocal album for “Midnights” and, in her acceptance speech, announced her next studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” out April 19. A post on Swift’s Instagram immediately went live, revealing what appears to be the album’s artwork. She also posted a photo of a handwritten note that reads, “And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms / The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch black ink / All’s fair in love and poetry…” She signed off the poem (or lyrics) with, “Sincerely, The Chairman of the Tortured Poets Department.”
