Taskmaster’s Alex Horne: ‘I wish there wasn’t a private school system’

The comedian, 45, on his privileged upbringing and why he doesn’t let his sons watch his hit show

Horne, 45, was born in Chichester and studied at Lancing College before reading classics at Cambridge, where he was a member of the Footlights comedy troupe. He is the creator and co-host, with Greg Davies, of the Bafta-winning TV show Taskmaster, in which comedians have to complete outlandish challenges. He lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife, Rachel, a newsreader for Virgin Radio, and their three sons.
