Tanya Grubich, a pioneering marketer of Broadway and touring productions whose clients included the musicals Grand Hotel, Smokey Joe’s Cafe and Mamma Mia!, died February 16 of Early Onset Dementia. A 1983 graduate of Southern Methodist University (she later completed a three-year program at the Harvard Business School), Grubich began her theater career at PACE Theatrical Group in Houston, Texas, moving to New York City shortly thereafter to work on the Broadway and touring productions of Grand Hotel. Later that year, Grubich was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s originating from a series of concussions suffered over her lifetime.
