TALK OF THE TOWN: Stella McCartney's set to give up her Bond Street flagship as losses mount
It's no secret that Stella McCartney's eponymous fashion brand has been haemorrhaging money in recent years.
Sir Paul McCartney ’s daughter, right, chose 23 Old Bond Street as her Central London showcase in 2014 and has fitted it out lavishly over the years, including installing a ‘Stella-vator’ – a lift lined with pink faux fur. She also filled the Grade II listed 18th Century building with designer furniture, including an original Mario Bellini sofa – which sells for an eye-watering £20,795, and rocks shipped down from the family farm in Scotland. I hear Rita, who is currently presenting the US version of The Masked Singer, recently chanced upon a ‘rather tired’ West London nail bar and asked for an urgent manicure.
