Who could ever have imagined that the wife of Take That's Gary Barlow would have a link to an often-derided cheesy 1980s TV star? Certainly not his many fans, it seems!
That's exactly what happened in 1990 when Timmy Mallett, star of ITV's morning kids show Wacaday, released his version of Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, with the British pop band Bombalurina. In the iconic video, Timmy rocks his signature vibrant specs and is flanked by two dancers who amp up the fun factor in the eye-catching visual feast. Meanwhile, Timmy Mallett isn't just a blast from the past – he's often invited to university events and dedicates much of his time to his passion for painting as a professional artist.
