Sylvia Chang to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award as Far East Film Festival Sets ‘Green Wave’ as Opener
Sylvia Chang will receive the lifetime achievement award at the 27th Far East Film Festival, which has set China's 'Green Wave' as its opening film.
The restored classics section features several notable treasures, including the European premiere of “Barking Dogs Never Bite,” the directorial debut of Oscar winner Bong Joon Ho, Filipino drama “Bona” by Lino Brocka, and Johnnie To ‘s masterpiece “PTU.” The festival has also renewed its collaboration with the Taipei Archive (Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute) to present a three-film tribute to director Pai Ching-jui, who studied at Italy’s Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome in 1961, where he immersed himself in Italian cinema and neorealism. Beyond screenings, FEFF 27 will feature a program of cultural events, including the first Italian anthological exhibition of legendary manga creator Shigeru Mizuki at Udine’s Casa Cavazzini Museum. The market section will welcome over 200 industry professionals from Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with the MiC (Italy’s Ministry of Culture) confirmed as the main supporter, along with partnership from the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes.
