Sylvester Stallone Pays Emotional Tribute to Late ‘Rocky’ Co-Star Carl Weathers: ‘Keep Punching’

Weathers co-starred with Stallone in the first four ‘Rocky’ action films.

In the second flick, they fought again, but the third movie explored their budding friendship when Apollo helped Rocky get back into shape for a new fight. The Rambo star previously told Deadline how “blessed” he felt to have met Carl when he auditioned for the role of Apollo. Previously, though, Stallone claimed that Weathers was supposed to have a cameo in his sequel film Rocky Balboa, but the idea didn’t pan out because of a pay disagreement.
