Superman Director James Gunn Defends Flying Shot of David Corenswet After Fan Backlash: 'Absolutely Zero CG in His Face'

'Superman' filmmaker James Gunn clarified that close-up shots of lead actor David Corenswet in the latest trailer for the upcoming DC Studios movie may look odd simply due to the camera lens he used rather than computer-generated imagery. 'There is absolutely zero CG in his face,' Gunn wrote on social media.

Gunn, 58, went on Threads Monday, Jan. 27, to respond to a fan who suggested that computer-generated imagery was used to alter Corenswet's appearance in the final moments of a Superman teaser that aired on television on Sunday. Fans took notice of the issue after it aired, and one Threads user directly responded to Gunn's post about the trailer, writing that "there's plenty of time to refine the CG." The movie also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern.
