Sunrise host Natalie Barr struggles to keep a straight face during bizarre interview with CNN correspondent about aviation disaster that killed one passenger and left eight Aussies injured

Natalie Barr struggled to contain herself live on television Wednesday morning when she conducted a bizarre interview with CNN correspondent Richard Quest.

Richard responded: 'Let me ask you a blunt question, what sort of idiot would sit in a metal tube that's bouncing through the air at five or six hundred miles an hour in unpredictable circumstances without being tied down?' The retired insurance worker and his wife were heading abroad on a six-week holiday of a lifetime to South East Asia, Indonesia and Australia when disaster struck around 11 hours into their flight from Heathrow. The aircraft hit an air pocket and plummeted an astonishing 6,000ft in just five minutes, with the sudden drop unleashing mayhem onboard and forcing the plane to make an emergency landing at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport.
