It’s fun to watch Erica do circles around Rick in their lawyer face-off.
Rick accepts the challenge but because he’s the show’s resident “does it by the books” good guy (puke), he goes directly to Erica, who has hit another roadblock in the Dylan Prior schedule negotiations, and tells her to sign a waiver that allows the pair to compete to represent the actress, fair and square. Part of our obsession with the original show was watching all these hot, competent people in great suits hook up and break up, the consequences of their wildly inappropriate love affairs adding a layer of chaos to whatever legal nonsense they were busy working through. Erica leaps at the opportunity to turn Rick’s fumble into a win for her side, ignoring Leah who wants to talk about the script, instead asking her associate to set up a dinner with the producer under false pretenses with the news that Warner Bros. are willing to pay him to stop keeping Dylan hostage.
