STX Entertainment Backing New ‘Bigfoot’ Horror Movie
The film is slated to shoot this fall in the remote Crystal Mountains of Washington State. Casting is in process.
Asher’s previous directing credits include the indie features A Love Like This, A Boy Called Po, and Miramax’s Diamonds, as well as the TV series One Tree Hill. Bigfoot marks the filmmaker’s first venture into the horror landscape, a genre he has a family connection to given that his grandfather E.M. Asher was an associate producer on iconic monster movies Dracula (1931) and Frankenstein (1931). STX Entertainment is the LA mini-studio that rose quickly but hit the rocks a couple of years ago leading to dozens of job losses and projects being put into bankruptcy.
