Strictly's Tasha Ghouri says she's enjoying 'pure silence' after removing her cochlear implant as she shares struggles with 'exhausting' lip-reading after split from Andrew Le Page
The Strictly star, 26, who was born deaf and received her cochlear implant when she was five years old, made history as the first-ever deaf contestant on Love Island in 2022.
In a new interview in the wake of the 'heartbreaking' break-up, Tasha told of her huge regret at creating a Raya dating profile immediately after the split which reportedly left her ex 'blindsided', with the beauty deleting it very soon after. Earlier in March, Tasha broke her silence on their split as she hit back at trolls sending her 'horrible comments' accusing her of 'taking' dog Luna from Andrew. The implants cannot restore normal hearing but they can give a deaf person a good representation of sounds, helping them understand speech.
