Strictly's Shirley Ballas reveals phone call that led to 'worst moment of her life'

Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has opened up on the moment she found out her brother had taken his own life, calling it the "worst moment of her life"

The 63 year old dance legend joined the Strictly family in 2017, stepping into the shoes of the late Len Goodman, and quickly won over the hearts of viewers. In a candid chat with the Telegraph, the BBC favourite revealed the "worst moment of her life" when she picked up the phone to learn of her brother's tragic passing. She revealed: "The only positive that can be taken from such a terrible time is that, because I got the Strictly job years later, I'm now able to use that platform to be an ambassador for the Campaign Against Living Miserably, so I'm able to help people with suicidal thoughts or anybody who feels like they want to take their own life."
