Strictly's Shirley Ballas lands major role in Hollywood film as she teams up with famous son

Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has landed a role in a new Hollywood movie, taking a break from her duties on the BBC dance show to work on the exciting project

The duo will take the reins of choreography in this film that boasts a lineup including BAFTA-nominated Rupert Everett, 'Misfits' actor Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Jeremy Irvine of 'War Horse' fame, and 'Bad Education' star Layton Williams. In other news, Shirley opened up about her health concerns in a September interview, revealing that she might be heading for back surgery owing to a degenerative spine disorder which she had been keeping under wraps. Shirley also told Gabby Logan on the Mid Point podcast that her main focus was "100%" to stop needing the operation and she had also cut out processed food too in a bid to improve her health.
