Strictly's Amanda Abbington issues promise after 'death threats' sent to theatre

Amanda Abbington has opened up about the terrifying ordeal she faced after making a complaint against her Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice

Initially, the actress cited "medical reasons," for her departure from the BBC show last year, but later filed a complaint against professional dancer Giovanni Pernice. A spokesperson told the Standard: "We were called at about 10am on Monday, August 12 by a staff member at a theatre in Finsbury Park following receipt of an alleged malicious communication." In response to the incidents, the BBC has implemented changes to the current series of Strictly, including the presence of chaperones during rehearsals and the introduction of new welfare workers.
