Strictly star Pete Wicks in floods of tears after animal strangled to death on TV show
Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls was embroiled in a 'grotesque' controversy back in 2018, after a pig was killed during filming leaving Strictly star Pete Wicks in tears
The poor animal strangled itself while campmates were arguing (Image: Channel 4)As the decision was being made, Colin was tied to a tree on the beach to prevent it from rummaging through their supplies. Humane Society International UK released a statement saying that although they don't condone killing animals for entertainment, they found Pete's "compassion for Colin the pig both commendable and beautiful". They continued: "It's time for Channel 4 to pull the plug on programmes like Celebrity Island because it really is grotesque for animals to be made to suffer and die for a TV show."
