Strictly star forced to take everyday job to makes ends meet – 'I invested everything’
Pro dancer-turned-judge Anton Du Beke has appeared in every Strictly Come Dancing series to date and confesses as a youngster, he put everything he had into dance
Affectionately dubbed the “King of Ballroom”, judge Anton Du Beke has become a veritable national treasure since first gliding onto the Strictly Come Dancing set two decades ago. While he was regularly paired with so-called “comedy” acts such as Ann Widdecombe and Nancy Dell’Olio, Anton was always supportive of his celeb partners, saying diplomatically: “They were all marvellous. In this special commemorative edition of OK!, we celebrate two glorious decades of one of the nation's favourite TV shows As the new series kicks off, we look back at the winners who have danced their way to the top of Britain's sparkliest dance competition and remember the iconic performances that have provided moments of joy, tears and laughter We also pay tribute to Strictly's hosts, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, the hard-working professional dancers and, of course, legendary judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke
