Strictly Come Dancing's Nick Knowles claims he has paid for own treatment after show injury
Strictly star Nick Knowles has claimed that he has had to pay for his own treatment after injuring his knee on the hit BBC show - but is hoping they'll pay for his rehab
The 62-year-old TV star tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during rehearsals for the show, and revealed he has been shelling out for his own treatment because “‘Strictly’ insurance did not cover the operations”. Nick, who was partnered with Luba Muschtuk, had to pull out of the Strictly final group performance (Image: Guy Levy/BBC/PA)The DIY guru, who struggling with an arm injury in the second week after a mishap while changing a tyre, joked: “In my letter to Santa, I did not have two major operations - three knee and one elbow braces, and learning to walk upstairs again - but that's what he brought me. On Instagram, Nick shared videos of himself relearning how to walk up stairs with crutches and said he hoped he would be “back to 100 per cent fitness” by August next year.
