Strictly Come Dancing's new welfare team has been forced to step in after Katya Jones appeared to snub star Wynne Evans following an awkward on-air moment

This year, following a controversy involving ex-contestant Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice- who exited amid disputes over training practices -Strictly introduced a welfare team to manage behind-the-scenes tensions. Saying they "really are amazing friends" and noting that the "high 5's is a running joke", Katya and her Strictly partner shared an apology following the awkward moment from Saturday's show. A Strictly insider said to the PA news agency: "Wynne and Katya have confirmed that their interactions in the Clauditorium were silly jokes they had planned together and have apologised to anyone who may have misinterpreted them," reports the Express.
