Strictly Come Dancing star sensationally quit show over heart surgery shock

Actor and comedian Robert Webb pulled out of Strictly Come Dancing due to ill health back in 2021, underestimating the rigours of the show while recovering from surgery

The comedian and actor, then aged 49, revealed that he left the BBC show for the sake of his health, admitting he had "bitten off more than he could chew", two years after having open heart surgery. Robert said in a statement, read out on spin-off show It Takes Two at the time: "I’m extremely sorry to have to announce that I’m withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing due to ill health.
