Sting's support act The Christians issue update after drummer's cardiac arrest on stage

The Christians have thanked fans for their support after drummer Lionel Duke suffered a cardiac arrest on stage while supporting Sting in Liverpool

Lionel collapsed mid-performance, and lead singer Gary Christian promptly requested medical help, with a screen set up on stage to provide some privacy. The band later posted an update on social media: "Thank you so much to all the many many messages regarding our drummer Lionel Duke who suffered a cardiac arrest while performing at tonight's amazing concert ahead of Sting". The Christians, hailing from Liverpool, had the best-selling debut album ever released by an artist under Island Records and managed several hits internationally through the late '80s and early '90s.
