Steven Spielberg’s New Film Moves to June 2026, Daniels’ ‘Everything Everywhere’ Follow-Up Removed From Calendar
Universal is shifting around the release dates for two major 2026 films.
Spielberg’s project, which also doesn’t have a title or logline but has been vividly described as a “new original event film,” was previously scheduled to open between two expected behemoths: “Avengers: Doomsday” on May 1 and “Star Wars” spinoff “The Mandalorian and Grogu” on May 22. Spielberg’s untitled film now shares a release date with Paramount’s “Scary Movie” and debuts a week ahead of Disney’s “Toy Story 5” (June 19). David Koepp, whose previous work with the filmmaker includes “Jurassic Park,” “War of the Worlds” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” is writing the screenplay.
