Steve Wright dead - BBC Radio 2 star's family's heartbreaking statement in full


Steve Wright has sadly died at the age of 69, his family announced in a heartbreaking statement as they described their "deep sorrow" and "profound regret" at the loss

Here it is in full, as the statement began: "It is with deep sorrow and profound regret that we announce the passing of our beloved Steve Wright. "He was a consummate professional whose attention to detail was always second to none, and he made his guests laugh, he was fair, and he wanted to showcase them and their work in the best possible light, bringing brilliant stories to our listeners," the boss shared. As Steve's beloved colleagues continued to share their messages of support for his family and friends and memories of their experiences with him, BBC Director General Tim Davie said that everyone at the network were utterly "heartbroken" at the sad news.
