Steve Carell, 61, heads back to college for his next project... after revealing he would not be returning for The Office follow-up series


Steve Carell is headed back to school for his next TV project. The actor, 61,will headline a new comedy set on a college campus for HBO /MAX.

The half-hour show was created by Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence and Scrubs writer and executive producer Matt Tarses. The actor disappointed fans when he announced he would not be taking part in a follow-up series to his hit show The Office (Pictured with Andrew Daly, Rashida Jones, Phyllis Smith, Kate Flannery and Mindy Kaling in 2005) Gleeson, 41, and The White Lotus star Sabrina Impacciatore, 56, will lead the ensemble cast in the storyline set 10 years after the original series came to an end.
