Stephen Mulhern apologises after his tenants left living in 'squalor'

TV presenter Stephen Mulhern has apologised, saying he's "absolutely mortified", after tenants in one of his Leicestershire homes claimed they've had damp and mould for years

The tenants - who rent one of his Leicestershire homes - raised the alarm over concerns for their health, saying they feel "bitter and alienated" after allegedly having their complaints ignored by the management agent. They told the publication: "We worked our butts off as key workers during Covid – my housemate for the NHS, and I in a factory producing disposable plastic accessories for hospitals, pulling extra shifts. A tenant, who served as a key worker throughout the pandemic and wished to remain anonymous, said it affected their mental and physical health (Image: Supplied to the Big Issue)"Having not been aware of the issues until now, Stephen has taken this matter into his own hands immediately and has personally requested for a team of damp specialists to visit the property to make sure that the problems with the ventilation and mould are resolved as a matter of urgency."
