Stephen Colbert Fights Tears In Moving Memorial Tribute To Executive Assistant Amy Cole

Monday's episode of CBS' The Late Show ended with a black title card paying tribute to executive assistant Amy Cole, who had died the day before.

Cole had been battling cancer, according to colleagues who posted tributes on social media, and had been undergoing treatment at Manhattan’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. After Colbert exited the set, the memorial title card appeared reading, “Dedicated to our dear friend Amy Cole, 1970-2024.” “Words cannot measure how big a loss Amy Cole is to this world,” Late Show director and producer Jake Plunkett posted on X/Twitter.
