Stephen Colbert celebrated on Thursday's 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' after Matt Gaetz's withdrawl as Trump's pick for attorney general.
“We have something to be thankful for, because this afternoon, Matt Gaetz withdrew as Trump’s nominee for attorney general,” Colbert said to those cheers during his opening monologue. Yesterday at the New York Times, they published a chart of Venmo transactions between Gaetz, his friends and dozens of women to show how payments flowed between them. Gaetz had been a controversial pick from the beginning, particularly because he promised to weaponize the Department of Justice and follow through on Trump’s plan to exact revenge on his critics.
