Stephanie Hsu to Lead Peacock Comedy Series ‘Laid’ From Nahnatchka Khan, Sally Bradford McKenna
Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to the comedy "Laid" with Stephanie Hsu attached to star, Variety has learned.
Based on the Australian series of the same name, the official logline for “Laid” states, “A woman finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward.” Hsu has been on a hot streak the past few years, including an Oscar nomination for her role in the hit film “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” She also recently starred in the film “Joy Ride” and will appear alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the new feature “The Fall Guy.” In TV, Hsu is best known for her role as Mei Lin in the critically-acclaimed Amazon series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” as well as for appearances on shows like “Poker Face,” “American Born Chinese,” “The Path,” and “Girl Code.” Bradford McKenna previously worked with Khan on “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.” Her other credits include “Will & Grace,” “Ghosted,” “Son of Zorn,” and “The Goldbergs.”
