Mud and debris flows were reported in the Beverly Glen area, where about five homes suffered “significant” damage, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. With rain expected to continue falling throughout the day and into Tuesday, a flash flood warning was issued until 3 p.m. for the Santa Monica Mountains and the Hollywood Hills. Videos posted online show the region’s waterways — including the L.A. River near Disney and Ballona Creek near Playa Vista — very close to overtopping bridges and their concrete banks.
