Spider-Man Noir Series at Amazon, MGM+ Casts Brendan Gleeson


Brendan Gleeson has joined the cast of the upcoming Spider-Man Noir series at Amazon, Variety has learned from sources.

Per the official logline, the show “tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.” Mercedes,” which was based on Stephen King’s Bill Hodges novel series, as well as the Showtime miniseries “The Comey Rule,” in which Gleeson played President Donald Trump. Gleeson also won an Emmy in 2009 for portraying Winston Churchill in the TV movie “Into the Storm.” In film, beyond “Banshees of Inisherin,” he is known for his roles in features like “In Bruges,” “The Guard,” “Cavalry,” multiple entries in the “Harry Potter” franchise, “Braveheart,” and “Gangs of New York.”
