Spanish rapper Morad begins a six-month prison sentence for traffic offenses

Catalan rapper Morad began a six-month jail sentence Monday (April 9) for reckless driving offenses committed in 2022. Morad’s sentence is due to his repeated failure to respond to court summons for traffic violations and driving without a license, according to the Spanish press. The charges stemmed from an incident in July 2021, during the pandemic, in which Morad allegedly attacked and intimidated several Catalan police officers (Mossos d’Esquadra) with a Taser after violating a nighttime lockdown in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, near Barcelona.
