Sotheby’s to Auction Original E.T. Model Used in Steven Spielberg’s 1982 Sci-Fi Classic

The model comes from the personal collection of the Oscar-winning special effects and makeup effects artist Carlo Rambaldi, who has a long list of credits on high-profile films like 'King Kong' and 'Dune.'

model will be offered with an estimate of $600,000-900,000 as part of the lot titled “There Are Such Things: 20th Century Horror, Science Fiction and Fantasy on Screen.” It will be open for bidding beginning on March 21 and continuing through April 3.
