Sophie Monk provides alarming update as she is forced to evacuate her hotel after being caught in strong 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Thailand

Sophie Monk has provided fans with an alarming update, revealing she recently risked her life getting to safety after getting caught in a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Thailand.

A 7.7 magnitude earthquake is on the higher end of the Richter scale and has the potential to cause significant damage to infrastructure, trigger landslides, and generate tsunamis if it occurs under the ocean floor. The earthquake struck Thailand and Myanmar on Friday, with a state of emergency declared and fears of mass casualties after tremors shook high-rise buildings and destroyed apartment blocks. Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said on Friday she had interrupted an official visit to the southern island of Phuket to hold an 'urgent meeting' after the quake, according to a post on X.
