Sony's Columbia Pictures has secured the rights to remake Japanese romantic drama '366 Days' for English-speaking audiences.

Sony ‘s Columbia Pictures has secured the rights to remake “ 366 Days,” the Japanese romantic drama that has taken the box office by storm, for English-speaking audiences. Directed by Takehiko Shinjo (“And Yet, You Are So Sweet”) with a screenplay by Kaho Fukuda (“We Made a Beautiful Bouquet”), “366 Days” draws inspiration from the popular Japanese band HY’s beloved song of the same name. The film follows Minato Makiya, played by Eiji Akaso (“Pending Train”), a high school senior in Okinawa who falls in love with junior student Miu Tamashiro, portrayed by Moka Kamishiraishi (“The Forest of Wool and Steel”), over their shared passion for music.
